Project Overview

Calibarium MEP was engaged to deliver a comprehensive fire protection estimation for a prestigious commercial high-rise tower in Brisbane's CBD. This flagship project required deep expertise in high-rise fire engineering, spanning multi-zone sprinkler systems, hydrant infrastructure with butterfly valve isolation, and precise riser calculations through multiple floor levels.

The scope focused on fire services across two major floor levels, with over 500 sprinkler heads, 907 linear metres of 25 mm sprinkler pipe, and a full hydrant network using pipe diameters from 40 mm through to 150 mm. The complexity of the high-rise environment demanded meticulous level-by-level quantification and riser coordination.

High-rise complexity: CBD high-rise fire protection demands absolute precision. Every sprinkler head must meet maximum spacing and distance-from-wall requirements per AS 2118.1, while hydrant coverage must satisfy AS 2419.1 for buildings exceeding 25 metres in effective height.
